Tips on How to Achieve Great Photos.
- Book a qualified specialised wedding photographer early (usually 10 to 18 months prior).
- Establish an open communication and discuss what you want and what can be achieved.
- Be aware of limitations and have realistic expectations.

- Be on time, so plan well and allow extra time for unexpected delays.
- Rehearse the ceremony and work with the priest or celebrant to obtain professional photographs.
- Have wet weather alternatives for photos and outdoor ceremonies.
- Allow enough time to comfortably do the photography (usually one and a half to two hours).
- Involve the family and bridal party, working together to cooperate with the photographer.
- Designate key people from each side to help coordinate the family involvement for the photography.
- Ask family and friends not to shoot in front of the photographer as it spoils your professional photographs.
- some drinks and snacks for the photography shoot and bring them with you.
- Book a professional makeup artist and go for a trial. Ask to keep the makeup a flat base to avoid shine.

For the groom and attendants - shave on the morning after a couple of days growth.
- Provide cover up for the groom and attendants to blend in shaving rash and blemishes.
- Use lots of pins and spray for the veil to avoid falling out.
- Coordinate with the florist to have buttonholes (and a spare) and the brides etc. flowers, delivered to the correct locations before the photographer arrives. Have the florist identify whose flowers are whose.
- Most importantly, because of the little detail pre-wedding planning, relax, enjoy and have fun with your photographer.
